This video highlights a component of World Education's work on the USAID-funded Education Support to Children of Underserved Populations (ESCUP) Project in Cambodia. Thin client computing labs, established under the ESCUP project, help to address many obstacles relating to the provision of IT facilities in Cambodian schools, including cost, energy consumption, and maintenance. This technology, which is cheaper, more efficient, and easier to maintain than traditional computer lab design, has the potential to revolutionize the provision of computer facilities in schools in rural Cambodia. ESCUP, a USAID-funded EQUIP1 associate award, was implemented from 2005 to 2008 by a consortium of organizations led by the American Institutes for Research (AIR) including World Education and the Kampuchean Action for Primary Education (KAPE).
