    In Argentina our ID card (DNI) indicates if we are MALE or FEMALE using by reference our sexual characters at the moment of birth. With this law the persons can change that, and the pile name, without a medical, psychiatrical or psycological criteria, because the transgender/transexual identity it´s not considered a pathology. The ID number doesn´t change, and every ID have our fingerprints over the photo (of course, this doesn´t change).

    I´m from Uruguay, we also have Trans ID name change, but not the born documents, thats a problem, and an special public health clinic destinated with doctors and people educated to work with trans people where they could feel comfotrable, of course, they can go to everyone.

    We're not allowed to change our names, there's a long and complicated legal process you have to follow, but it takes years to get a positive result. With this law we'll be able to change sex, 'gender' specification and access to medical and psychological support without having to get a lawyer.
