John Barry died today. This is my off-beat hommage to him.
I always wanted to score James Bond... This is my effort....
Listen to the way the Bass and the Piano dance around each other as the Strings push it all along. There is a lot of him in this. You might hear it.The music starts slow, giving clues.. Then bang..it goes... Epic !!! I threw everything in. I tried to incorporate some of his sound eg the way the horns and strings work.
This is my most underrated track. I think it really goes places and somehow all fits. A real trip. Enjoy the ride. I like it a lot.
Hope you like it too.

Andy's Review 19/05/11
The one that did Nothing until John Barry Died.... I tried to capture his feel musically. Maybe I failed, but I had a go. And it was my most complex bit of music. Lots of layers, Big Horn section. Dramatic Pics.
But why no Bond Pics Andy?
Copywrite...
So you have to use your imagination.
Which, I think is always a good thing.
I knew they would get this. But boy, it took a while !!!!!
If you like this check out my Vid The Dreamer. It has my loose layer of sounds approach too.

  • @mikecelona Thanks for watching !!! RIP JB !!!

  • When i heard that John barry died I couldn´t believe it and I still can´t. For me he was the best composer ever. Blak Hole, James Bond, Zulu, The Specialist. All this films and many more, was great and I guess it´s because of his music. RIP John Barry

  • @Dariun75 I agree. Imagine Bond without John Barry's music... His sound was so vast, so cinematic. The news knocked me out too. RIP JB.

  • @MrAlphacenturi He's rolling in his grave haha

  • @MrAlphacenturi He probably would have hated this. The stuff everyone likes esp Out Of Africa and Dances with Wolves I am not too keen on. I get the feeling he was coasting. But he had an unmistakable sound and came across as such a great guy in the interviews I have seen with him. Sad loss indeed !!

  • ottimo video ;-))) *****

  • @kumhuiguitargirl Thanks for watching. Those Bond films just never sound the same, done by anybody else. What great songs !!! I can see you walking across the screen in silhoette, and me in a tux, turning and shooting at the screen. (You and Ana would be great Bond girls !!!) Da Da, Da Da Da Da, Da Da, Da Da Da Da ect ect (in Bondish fasion)

  • @puglet7 Thanks Gareth. What a legacy that guy left us?!! Such an amazing artist, and from the interviews I have seen, a nice guy too. His sound is so vast. I have learn't so much from him. It probably shows. Thanks again. Andy

  • Hi Andy ,

I was a big John Barry fan . Love this tribute ...it's melancholy to start , then builds into something else . The artwork is brilliant , as ever! Gareth.
