It's all about the tremolo. Marr is a genius.

@Blinkyboy99 Yeah, def overrated, largely down to studio trickery and couldn't be played properly live, I love the song and consider Johnny Marr the greatest guitarist ever but this song seems to take pride of place over other songs he's written which I'd say are better.

I am a son and an heir of nothing in particular
-
the mother of all riffs your not kidding, how soon is now is just the best
-
@Blinkyboy99 did you do it?
-
@Blinkyboy99 they released it as a b side everyone else freaked out about it
-
@Blinkyboy99 some of the greatest things created by man are some of the simplest things. It'sall about the idea not the execution.

Whoa! Hamilton Bohannon was the genesis of How Soon Is Now?! I'm a pretty well-listened guy and can usually hear where stuff is coming from (and a guitarist, to boot), but I never would have caught that if Marr hadn't divulged it here! Cool!
i love the way everytime Johnny is interviewed he is surrounded by amps in a darkened room

@Blinkyboy99 true 'nuff, Water is only 2 H's and an O, but when you put them together, you get wet. It's not the mechanics of it, it's the poetry. The Edge's work has a lot of effects, too. The total composition is guitar plus effects, plus the time and space around them...
