An exercise in patience: the year of the healing of my chest following FTM chest reconstruction surgery. Surgeon was Martyn Webster, Glasgow, Scotland (now retired). Right side nipple revision by David Dunaway eleven months later.

The technique used is a form of peri-areaolar, with a leaf-shaped incision made to remove the excess skin and glandular tissue. The nipple is retained on a pedicle of tissue, raised to a higher position on the chest, and the incision is closed up around the nipple.

The right-hand side developed a seroma (buildup of fluid) in the early weeks, causing internal scar tissue which is still slowly breaking down. Patience...

The music is "Never on a Sunday" by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass
