This is my home town and I live here again after 21 years working on movies in Hollywood. I have been discussing this very thing with friends and family and it finally happened here. People are losing it all across the country. This will come to your town soon! My niece's friends were eating at this IHOP with their 3 year old when the shooting began. (They are OK) Prayers for the victims.

Shooter identified as Eduardo Sencion (Gonzales), 32 year old alleged "resident" of Carson City with alleged history of mental problems. He used an AK-47

Carson City Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the shooter in the Carson City IHOP incident has died of his self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Update 11:45: At least three people, two uniformed members of the National Guard, have died in a shooting this morning shortly before 9 a.m. at the International House of Pancakes, IHOP, in Carson City, according to Sheriff Ken Furlong. In all, 10 people were shot, with three dead as of 11:30 a.m. Four of the nine who were shot by the gunman were military personnel, according to KRNV Channel 4 Reno.
The suspected shooter, reportedly using an automatic weapon, apparently shot himself had been clingling to life, Furlong said during a press conference. Three police chaplains have also been called in to respond to and speak with families of the shooting victims. The shooting on South Carson Street has the roadway closed at both sides of Highway 395 and at Eagle Station Lane.
A couple inside the restaurant, Howard and Evelyn MacDonald from Southern California who were visiting family from Carson City, both managed to escape with other customers out of the back door of IHOP when bullets began flying. The MacDonalds said they had been eating their breakfast when they heard several shots being fired, windows breaking and an employee who came out of the kitchen yelling "Get out now!" said Howard MacDonald.
"I'll never forget that sound," said Ellen MacDonald.
Across the parking lot at Locals' BBQ, owner Ralph Swagler said witnessed much of the shooting. He said that he and his son were inside his restaurant when he saw a man pull into the IHOP parking lot i a blue minivan, where he began shooting outside the restaurant. Swagler said he then saw a body on the ground next to a motorcycle, as the male shooter began shooting from the front of the restaurant to the inside. Swagler said the weapon was a fully automatic assault-style weapon, in which he said the man fired off an entire clip, reloaded and then walked inside the IHOP and began shooting.
The shooter then walked outside restaurant, saw Swagler and his son as they attempted to lock the Locals' BBQ door, then began shooting at the restaurant, he said. And then Swagler said the gunman began shooting at the H&R Block office next door.
Stray bullets have been found all over the area, in between the McDonald's building and Casino Fandango, as well as throughout the IHOP parking lot.
Law officers from agencies around Northern Nevada are responding to scene, with officers asked to respond to Carson Tahoe and Renown Medical Center in Reno to speak with and identify the victims, according to police scanner dispatch.

  • To everyone else, they have to base their justice on the hope that God exists. I can certainly see why a person would do this. It makes perfect sense to me.

  • It's the one time in a person's life where they are the judge an jury. Who lives and who dies, who suffers and who doesn't is completely up to them. To the person determined to die in the next 10 minutes morals and values have no meaning, the future has no meaning, the lives of others have no meaning. The world and all it contains is theirs to do with as they see fit. This is a very attractive and powerful feeling and it's a feeling of warm justice.

  • Amazing this doesn't happen all the time. Think about it for a moment, it's the end of your life, maybe you have a serious chronic health problem or terminal disease and have resolved upon suicide. Add to this you are angry and want revenge for wrongs real or imagined. There really isn't any downside for the shooter, it's a win-win situation for him. I'm really surprised people who get out of prison or are about to go don't do this. It has a logic.

  • Problem is these COPS shoot all the time and have no hate for where they live or the PEOPLE they live with ,,,,now in EAST COAST right now COPS hat e allthe scum and dying to kill somebody and use guns so the SPICs need to come to EAST and shoot up at he COPS ..then they will get all the action they want...probably same even goes 10x for CHicago and no question DETROIT city ...

  • @ZX2ManDave An Ak47 isn't expensive. You can buy one for less than $400 at a gun store. My problem was that this dude supposedly had a history of mental illness yet he somehow got a hold of an Ak through a store.

  • @HOLLYWOODILLUSION YA YOU RIGHT THIS WAST THE POINT. SORRY TO ALL.
