He doesn't clamp it two turns back he weaves the crosses ahead of time, this saves time.

why do you clamp it two turns back, insted calmping right at the end of the one you just tensioned?

You would save a lot of time if you kept the end of the string in your hand as you pull it through on the cross strings.
