http://www.johnalvino.com A dynamic warm up is critical to perform prior to sprinting. Done properly, this type of warm up, prepares your body for the demands sprinting places upon it. This improves performance while simultaneously decreasing risk of injury.

The warm up in this video is a quick and simple protocol. To read the article that accompanies this video, check out my blog at http://www.johnalvino.com

  • First of all, ice your shins. Then be sure not to overdo your sprinting volume. And you may want to have your feet checked. If you over pronate your feet, an insert or special sneaker may be helpful.

  • Hey John, great warm up, this really helped me out with my sprints a good deal. However man, I keep noticing that my shins feel beaten up, even early on with my sprints. Is it a matter of getting my calves more warmed up, get new shoes, or better technique? When I run I usually try to land flat footed or on my toes. Anyway, what can I do to decrease the pain in my shins?

All help is appreciated, thanks John.
