i got kinda sick drinking wine coolers they let one buy. i watched bono climbing - i just thought it was goofy. the best was when bowie came out later during the night. a large part of the audience had already left but i remember all the handicapped people in wheel chairs were brought into the audience. just to see bowie. and he was incredible.

My brother & I went to the concert for one day, lucky us that we were able to be close to the front stage, but the pushing never ended for for the 12 hours of good rock with so many bands playing thru out the day, what an experience!!!!

Was there to see this amazing performance. At the time it was the worlds largest stage. Been a U2 fan ever since. Even 20+ years later.

This was back when rock concerts meant something, and the audiences were genuinely thrilled. The spontaneity... Bono wouldn't be allowed to climb today and throw the flag out lest lawsuits would abound.

It's amazing that the sound guy followed bono all the way up the scaffolding with the mic wire.
