oh where to begin. if you really think that peter jackson would come here over new zealand your crazy. and its not tar "tarsand" is an environmentalist name for it to give it a bad connotation. it's oilsands. tar comes from trees. crude oil comes from the oilsands. once refined you cant tell te difference between it and oil from arabia. same reason why its not "dirty" oil. those are political terms given to give people a bad taste about the whole area.

I don't get it. Really. Peter Jackson is going to spend millions shooting video of the area from every angle. His out-takes alone will probably add up to more than all the clips on every anti-tarsands environmental website around. They'll all end up on youtube and then be used by activists worldwide , for free. If I were against the oil sands ( tar comes from trees ) , I would welcome this turn of events and spin it to further my cause. Filming there doesn't legitimize anything.

Tia -- wow! -- you nailed it sister! when i first saw it, I sorta thot that eye of sharon was pretty sassy/critical/ironic --but the tar sands are just too evil to laugh about... (well, except for elijah, drowning in a tar pit like a mastodon...)
