@codejunki567 its a cleaning jolt, it actually cleans off the oxidized metal and improves the connection. they can stop it at anytime because they use a puff of non conductive gas over the terminals.

I am not a dummy I do know how to figure volts and amps and load test generators with salty water. Ok what was this for why did the ark go up and a=was it arking between the two things that were disconected. Is 500kv 500 kilovolts is that 500000 volts? Someone help me educate me . But wow thats chilling is fing awsome I would love to play with that light switch. What awsome minds designed this apperatus,briliant engineers awsome !!! someone responde and educate me please !!!

@codejunki567 totally agree. its not some malfunction. its whats known as an energy dump. sometimes they do a simple grounding. or the release it as an arc. its when the substation has more power than it needs

No H.A.R.P. No tesla coil. just a switch. The arc is just a result of a huge amount of power being turned off.
