This girl is exceptional and comparisons elsewhere to Joss Stone or Katie Melua (!) are insulting. She is up there with Shania Twain in "technique" but with far more depth, In fact, forget comparisons. This is a voice to break your heart. She explodes in the emotional centre like a hand-grenade. Check out "Upwards" on Corrie Fraser's website. It shreds you.
I would call this genre Country/Soul, but whatever, I think she is world-class and sings from a place most of 'em don't even know exists.

...and on the issue of body size: it works for Charlotte Church and Natasha Beddingfield doesn't it? At 18, Louise probably still carries some puppy fat, like my 17 year-old daughter does It all depends whether you are consuming this for musical content or the wank-bank, in which case, Siobhan Donaghy is, by most blokes' standards, the hotter of the two. But I know whose music I'd rather listen to. There's no substitute for authenticity, and this girl has soul and a voice that can sustain a note
