@mosgielify This allowed the Australians to overcome any sort of racial discrimination issue because to them there is only one race. It's just more efficient that way and any possibility of a civil conflict is minimized. So that leaves us with the question of what should the Maori's do then? I don't know, it's all politics and money really. How much do we really know of what is actually happening within the parliamentary walls? Smokes and mirrors my friend.

@mosgielify but if you look at history the British could have made the choice to wipe out the Maori's. Instead they made the more moral choice to let them live and work with them. Moral doesn't necessarily equate to economical as we can see with our neighbor the Australians. They did not make the moral choice and instead of working with the natives they pretty much wiped out their entire race. There is only a minority few that still survive and they have absolutely no rights at all.

@mosgielify Yes by using physical force to do it. That is the most intelligent way to convince the nation that Maori's deserve a place in New Zealand. I didn't mean to come out as racist, I apologize. I think my comment came out as quite racist but if you know me personally I have many Maori friends and we simply joke about this sorta thing. For example like I joke about how I'm a Chink and I have squinty eyes.
The Maori rights thing is a touchy subject, Maori's deserve the right to their land

@iggytan you racist asshole rot in hell you fucking cunt, maori are trying to obtain their rights and with more people like you the less likely we're ever going to get them back, so the sooner you die the better, fuck off you cunt, rot in hell.

@BJDom in comparison to today's world.. Maori were better off in their pre-historic era (as you put it). Especially during the early trade period of the 1800's before the actual colonisation process in the 1900's, Maori enjoyed a self sustainable life style and state of immeasurable wealth. Even less than 50years ago a few communities were able to retain this, until the Welfare system was introduced as a further means of racial oppression by introducing Maori to a state dependent lifestyle.
