i live right beside the james cant wait till this season we fished everyday down there but our luck payed off with a 35lb flathead

I was fishing at Wilcox Wharf off the pier and caught a 9lb blue catfish just the other day. They bight all year round, any time of the day.

The biggest and MOST blues come in the winter and then again in the spring with the shad run ! You can catch em all day long ...

blues bite good this time of year when it's cold?

They bite all year round. This was my first experience fishing for blues in the cold. I mainly catfish for flatheads in the late spring and summer.
