NEW INFO: Check out Take two of this song with the Audio Mixer! Sounds Different in a good way!!!

Hey everyone...well this is a song I grew up listening too...and up untill now i forgot about it...untill a few days ago i was humming it and was all Like "i remember this" so i searched for the karaoke and YT didnt come up with anything....SO to my fortune SingSnap.com had it! YAH!

So i tried to do it like me...instead of trying to copy the original artist "the Teddy Bears" here is some info about the song provided by wikipedia.com

"To Know Him Is to Love Him" is a song written by Phil Spector, inspired by words on his father's tombstone. It was first recorded by his first vocal group, the only one of which he was a member, the Teddy Bears. Their recording went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 1958. The Beatles recorded it as "To Know Her Is to Love Her" and Marc Bolan and Gloria Jones, Peter and Gordon, and Bobby Vinton made versions called "To Know You Is to Love You". This song is written with a 3/4 time signature (Waltz Time), which is fairly unique for a successful pop song.

In 1987, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt covered the song, taking their version to the top of the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart. Their performance of the song on stage was accompanied by the Chippendales dancers.

John Lennon recorded his own version of the song in 1973 ("To Know Her Is to Love Her"), but it would not see release until the 1986 compilation Menlove Ave. In 2007, Amy Winehouse recorded the song acoustically for a B-side of "You Know I'm No Good" for Napster. A version by Winehouse also appeared on the 2007 compilation album, The Saturday Sessions: The Dermot O'Leary Show. In the same year, the song was recorded as a duet by Jill Johnson and Lisa Miskovsky.

...(and in my opinion i prefer the original overall)

SO yeah...*phew* that was alot of stuff...to copy and paste!

  • This is so beautiful; May I use this on my soon to be launched website as an example of the types of videos we want people to send in---of themselves singing or playing an instrument. You have done such a beautiful job. Sincerely, Cheryl Williams, San Antonio, Tx.

  • Lacy, Thank you so much! We hope to encourage people to sing because they want to sing, and you do have a beautiful voice. People need to sing and play instruments for individual enjoyment and not wait for a Star or well known famous person to step up to the plate. As soon as I have a link I will send it over to you so that you can follow this lovely video. When people get the idea and start submitting their originals, you are most welcomed to send in your videos.Best of the Best to you. Cheryl
