3 kids drown falling into icy river

Three children under the age of 11 died Sunday after falling through ice on the Sandusky River in Rice Township outside the city of Fremont.

The boys - Da'Vontae Everett, age 8, Jay'Den Everett, age 7, and Rafael Villanueva, age 10, are all from Fremont. The boys were last seen playing Sunday afternoon outside a home in Rice Township a few blocks from the river.

Sandusky County Sheriff deputies received a report that the children had fallen through the ice at around 1:23 p.m. on Sunday. Calls to 9-1-1 stated the kids were playing on the ice when it gave way and they fell into the water.
