  • Tim...top tips...no nonsense, good video...I do the same sometimes I use a drill bit to push in to the stem, to widen.

  • I'd be interested in finding out some more about that mate. I have two Oom Pauls both of which are getting loose. I not sure the Clive method is that good.. Cheers Tim

  • Thanks Tim, 1 pipe from ebay is very loose, gonna give it try. I'm not a handyman but anyway..

Thanks a lot for taking your time to make this video!

  • Likewise mate. But having seen Clive do them they are within our range. Good luck let me know how you get on.

  • Very helpful tips. But be careful while pressing the heated stem onto the table. If you do too hard it will become too thick and won't fit any longer into the shank.

    Cheers

  • Hey mate. Great to see another English Pipe smoker! Top Vid!

  • Hi Tim, my wifes Grandad used to put a bit of hairspray on his pipe stem to tighten it up a bit. It sounds good but he never mentioned whether he got a taste of Harmony Super Hold with his St Bruno. Seemed to work for him though...

  • just dont stick it up your nose, this is very embarrasing

  • Hi Tim,

some nice tips, to be honest I prefer to give such pipes to my favorite pipe store to get repaired or adjusted.

    All the best,

    Joachim

  • Great video with some fine tips. If you cant find any grapite pencils laying around the house just lightly rub the tennon of you stem alongside your nose and the natural oils will lightly lubricate the tennon and hey presto, it will fit.

  • hi tim

i have seen graphite used to lubricate the stem which is the same as pencil. I have also seen talcum powder used to the same effect,

    good vid thanks, tim
