  • Holy Ziegfeld Follies! AMAZING! Probably the closest the Oscars ever came to recreating the great MGM musicals or Ziegfeld Follies. Kudos to Peters and Allen for my gosh - one long routine of hitting their marks and notes virtually flawlessly (live to billions of TV viewers I might add - good lord - their nerves must have been made of steel!). I never realized how well Allen could dance. And bravo to the production team and choreorgrapher! Thanks so much for posting this-what a treat!

  • @Goomgam You're so right Goomgam. I've seen her in 5 productions! She's never let me down: "Gypsy", "Little Night Music","Sunday in the park with George","Into the woods","Song and Dance". I'm so hoping to see her in "Follies". I hear her version of "Buddy'S Eyes" is glorious!

  • @octopussy1234 Absolutely on the mark

  • What a great video! Peter Allen singing and dancing. Who could ask for more. Well, the more would be Peter Allen and Bernadette Peters together. Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this look at music history. I wish the "Irving Berlin Tribute, Part 1" was still on You Tube. It showed Peter at his dancing best. . Pam

  • what a legacy Izzie Baline left us. thanks for this.

  • Happy Birthday Irving

  • This is almost 30 years ago. I see Bernadette Peters in such a brilliant performance and I ask myself, "Who could do something like that today?" And I reply, "Bernadette Peters."

  • An Oscars ceremony that celebrates film and its rich heritage. Amazing.
