I was in the same show group as Bryan Harden when he was our choreographer. A kid from a small town in Washington State, but he made me feel like a million bucks! He knew just what to say to help me 'figure it out.'
He was an amazing encourager who seemed almost magically to find every ounce of talent in all of us. The hours I spent with your dad are forever etched in my mind. Thanks for sharing this on YouTube! It is such a blessing to see pictures of the contagious smile I remember so well!
I hope you view this. I met your father when I was in 4th grade. He, Ellen and 2 children came to Illinois to visit Aunt clara. I saw him again when he and Barb met us half way - Victorville CA for a couple of hours. What a reunion - he had not seen his cousin Dolly (my mom - Clara's daughter) in 40 years. I treasure all that time and the smiles that beamed that afternoon. The wait staff actually cried with us when we departed - each going in their own direction. God Bless you
Nick, I studied jazz with your dad back in the early 60's. He used to bring his two little children with him (boy and girl around 4 and 5 years old), and they would sit and watch your dad teach the class. I'm assuming that was you and your sister.
He was the best teacher. He will be remembered by many as being a very talented man but also and kind one.
Alex Plasschaert was a true gentleman and a godly man. The only thing greater than his talent for dancing was his heart for God and his love of family, friends and life. I met him when he choreographed a show I was in and I will never forget how much fun I had whenever he was around. What a great heart and such an enthusiastic spirit! I'll miss him terribly. I think of him often and look forward to dancing w/him again some day. Thank you for the video and God bless.
Nick, I knew your Dad from a few choreographing jobs about 11 years ago. He even got me dancing and I was supposed to be crew. I just read that he passed away almost a year ago. I'm terribly sorry for your family's loss. There are few people that I admired as greatly both in talent and character as Alex. I doubt that your Dad walked through the gates of heaven, He would have danced all the way. Thank you for posting the video. Best wishes to your family. Dan Shippey OC
