The Industrial revolution brought change and reform
It started in England where Capitalism was born
Some Entrepreneurs did become rich

Urbanization moved people to the city
The bad sanitation made the roads not pretty
The city still, was not real hot
Factory workers wages still were not a lot

Children, women and even men
Worked in the factories over and over again
It was not fair, women were paid less
They had to work the new printing press

With new machines, the environment was in doom
One they called was the steam-powered loom
The spinning jenny and the spinning mule
Were examples of, clothing line tools

The coal powered the railroad
The railroad moved the people
This transported them to the new designed steeple
Industrial Revolution can't stop that

Adam Smith was the man who started it all
Without him Capitalism would have never called
In his book call The Wealth of Nations
He told how competition would be a motivation

His well known Rival Karl Marxs
Explained that communism would make you spark
He also had a book that rivaled Smiths
But people who like communism should be thrown in a ditch

Capitalist ideas soon came across the pacific
The Americans thought this idea was terrific
If you look at our government structure today
You'll see that communism was pushed away

Working conditions were not up to par
Reforms during this time were not too far
The Industrial Revolution made rapid social change
Without this period where would we be today?

Along the Tiber River Rome began to shine
The Romans were drunks since they drank wine
When you count the hills, there are seven
Some considered Mount Olympus to be Heaven

Julius Caesar was the dictator of Rome
The Plebeians didn't live in Villas, they lived in homes
When Caesar was killed in 44BC
A triumvirate took over (which is three)

There were twelve tables in Roman law
They were out in public so everyone saw
The Senate was part of Democracy
Most of the Senators were part of the Aristocracy

For 100 years the Civil War Raged
Instead of peace war was waged
The Pax Romana is about peace
Close to Rome was Sparta, in Greece

Virgil was a classic Roman writer
In the Coliseum there were animals and fighters
Rome is located in the Italian boot
Where grapes are grown, a valuable fruit

Only male citizens were given the right to vote
Caesar died from a knife to the throat
When Rome adopted Christianity
The Barbarians brought Rome to debris

When we took Liberty our nation rose, and grew
Unlike the Romans we didn't exile the Jews
American's must look back so far
To see how the Roman Empire left their scar
