@gammster777 I just fixed mine with what you're saying. Just some extra carpet, new foam, a razor blade, scissors, and some Loctite strong spray adhesive. Foam and adhesive from Lowe's for $13. ez2dohome is right about the cost to have it professionally repaired and the cost for all the tools they used in the video. But with a little effort, it CAN be done on the cheap and by yourself.

You need to get a Kool Glide

Do i need the seam cutter and sealer glue??can i just use regular carpet blade and regular really strong glue?

You are very precise and explain well. I have some bad stains thanks to my dog and I would like to fix it myself...looks hard to do but I know I can.

YOU NEED SOME OXY CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'll tell you, use car brake calliper cleaner it gets anything out red wine, oil, lipstick the lot!! test in a un noticeable area first tho to make sure it doesnt discolour the carpet
You would need a seem cutter and sealer glue, because the glue comes on a strip and it literally seams both pieces of carpet together so that you don't see the seam. This glue is especially made for carpet.

@notownreppa775 - your average installer will charge between $75-$100, depending on the size and location of the stain. If there are multiple stains the costs will exceed that cost.
If you are handy and want to try the above video:
To purchase the tools in the above video, they will cost approximately. $200 (if purchased online).
You can rent the Kicker and Seaming Iron for about $40-50 and purchase hand tools for about $75.
Good Luck and let us know what happens.
