  • Soybeans have a natural form of estrogen. SILK is not good for men.

  • He drinks a TON of silk and silk products, he says he doesn't mind the possibility of those side effects. He has regular testosterone checks so its cool

  • Hi Amelia, love your videos they've given me lots to think about. I have been thinking for a little while about how to rinse the quinoa, and I think the best solution would be to buy one of those reusable coffee filters. You know the kind you can wash and reuse forever? The mesh is so fine that I think it would work well. Keep up the good work!

  • thanks for sharing this, i've decided to add quinoa into my and my daughters diet...i had NEVER heard of it and in the last 6 months, everyone is talking about it!!!!!

  • Hi Amelia & Joel, thanks for sharing this video. The funny thing about Quinoa, is that my daughter was ranting & raving about it before I had my surgery. In fact, she had fixed some for me once. I kept trying to tell my dietician about it & couldn't remember the name, then I find out she had a post about the benefits of Quinoa on the surgery site. You can get some that is washed already. I wash it in a sieve under running water. I add my cooked Quinoa to olive oil & fresh herbs. Thx 4 sharing!

  • You could type "quinoa protein grams" into Google and find your answer really quickly.

  • You can look this up through Google. I did, and it has protein in it but it's still mostly carbs. A 1/2 cup serving only has about 4g protein with about 23 carbs. But it's still a better choice than white rice, etc.

  • That's because the grains swell and increase in volume when you cook it, so you're getting less "stuff" in the cooked version. Uncooked, there are more grains in a cup. Cooking it doesn't cause it to lose protein or anything.

  • just have a question not related to this video. do you have any pains any where. i have a problem with my tail bone . i have lost 154 pounds and it hurts to sit normal i have to lean forward or off to the side .

  • Just read an article about hormones in soy causing lower testosterone interesting: "Dr Fuhrman: Totally untrue, that is a biased, meat-promoting article written to bash soy. If soy did lower testosterone it might be good because the high-meat American diet causes an excess of testosterone, leading to higher prostate cancer risk. Nevertheless this is not true anyway. See the study in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition." Anyway I love soy myself. Milk is for cows. :-)

  • Thanks for the reply. If I were drinking a lot of that silk stuff or eating alot of soy, I would have the doctor check my estrogen levels.
