  • weller at his best all time gratest jam song

  • People say this is their fav b side of any jam single, to me they were untouchable with many, many fantastic tunes and i have to agree you'll have to go along way to top this as a "B" The jam split in 82 LONG LIVE the Jam.

  • I reckon this song is about the 'LIz' character played by Julie Christie in Billy LIar. If any of you ever meet PW, would you mind aksing him and getting back to me on the subject. Thanks cats!

  • Agree solar7, perfect B side from the band that had lots of great B sides, to say nothing of the A sides! Thank you brokeandstoned....nice one.

  • Think this is the only live version i've got ? . We could probably count the number of times they done it in a live set on one hand. Just watched Weller do an acoustic version of it and it somehow lacks the energy in his voice to this original . Even for a beautiful love song he still had anger back then . Think it was the only time Foxton used an accordion on a Jam record as well ? . Take me back to 1980 .......

  • My favorite song from my favorite band. The lyrics remind me of Eleanor Rigby while the music reminds me of Mary Anne With the Shaky Hands. Liza's cousins, perhaps?

  • Superb ! Ive never seen this footage before, great to watch, cheers.

  • Originally- I loved him as the "angry young man" with a talent for putting feelings to word and then lyrics into songs. I dig the fury he spews at the system (a system that absorbed us long ago) but I will also be quick to respect his quiet/moody side, and SO many of the "gems" he has done (like THIS one) are songs/moments that remain with me until my end.

  • best jam b side ever. ,one of the best jam songs ever, one of the best songs ever..

  • That is absolutely fantastic!!! I've been in love with Weller (his music I mean...well, aw hell Paul himself!!!) for close to thirty years now, and that video is appreciated beyond words. Thanks a ton B and S!!!
