Governor Brewer Condemns U.S. State Department Report to UN Human Rights Council.

In correspondence sent today to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Governor Jan Brewer has condemned the "Universal Periodic Review" report submitted to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Governor Brewer has requested that Secretary Clinton amend the report to the United Nations to remove the paragraph on S.B. 1070.

In her letter to Secretary of State Clinton, Governor Brewer stated "Simply put, it is downright offensive that the State Department included the State of Arizona and S.B. 1070 in a report to the United Nations Council on Human Rights, whose members include such renowned human rights 'champions' as Cuba and Libya." Governor Brewer additionally stated, "The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to 'review' by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional. Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my Administration."

  • I'm a Mexican immigrant and I support the AZ governor and her choice to fight back and keep me and my bambinos safe. I came here the lawful and correct way and that's the law. Obama lies to the American people. Our jobs and benefits not yours till you earn them.

  • Obama is a total failure. Now Bush isn't at the bottom, Obama has no one president that has been so horribly bad as he is. Pretty speeches get old, and Obama really showed what a real waste of a politician he is. He has turned on our own people.

  • ♣♣Congress favors businesses for money laundering thus creating constantly unjust laws that tramples a civilians bill of rights. Not to mention how they attack many immigrants protests with brutal force. Had immigrants used any weapon like a bottle they would been shot. They were looking an exuse to shoot people as you may have watched the video clips. In fact in other countries you can use rocks, bottles and not be shot but in the U.S you are a dead person

  • this is about libya which are the comments below.

  • I hope this isn't a fight for adulterous rights but about really being oppressed by a dictator. Instead of one dicatator the U.S is filled a hundreds of dictators which are congress, businesses, and the wealthy. I don't see the difference in that country when 15 million people in the U.S are unemployed which means they also homeless because of businesses, banks, destroyed the economy but were rewarded $300 billion and more which they haven't used to create jobs but usedfor salaryincrease
