@dmc081 A Smart is a modern version of a Microcar. The Heinkel was a similar class of car that was popular in the 1960s. Like the Smart It was cheaper to run than a normal car and more convenient than a motorcycle

@archietherobot they should also start producing the bmw isetta again, and that car would be so smashed together! I'm sick just thinking about being that little boy. Other than that, awesome car.

Yes all part of the fun! Not so funny however when the kids have muddy shoes!

@margatelad They are great fun! I restored one myself. You can see videos of it if you search for Microcars under ADMIRALSCORNER i would suuest you join the Owners Club and get their magazine where some for sale do appear from time to time.

how the hell did they breathe

@xhomeboy333 Ha Ha! Bubblecars werent made to the same precision as moderm cars so air got in around the large door seal and under the canvas roof cover. That could roll completely open if required. There were also opening triangular windows on both sides. Normally they only carried two poeple plus a child.

Here in Brazil we had a similar car called "Romi Isetta", powered by BMW, from 1957 to 1960.

Hi, nice to hear from you. We had the Isetta in the UK too. Have a look at my video titled BERNARDS BUBBLES-ISETTAS. Also i hear BMW are to bring out a new car which they are to call Isetta!
