Cliff Hanger Stern 1983 - This is just a clip of me playing Cliff Hanger on an old laptop I have (Windows 98). One day, I hope to have an actual arcade cabinet. In this vid, I show as much as I currently know how to play through. I gave some tech tips in my last video on how to start this game easily using Daphne. In this video, I am just playing the game as far along as I currently know how to. Please share your laserdisc game memories in the comments section. Enjoy, and thanks for watching.

Lastly, for those who will ask, here is the link to where I got the program file discs for this game: http://romcollector.com/laserdisc-c-32.html?osCsid=m61pth4c20p2uqkkc6nnbdf7v2

  • you ever made it to the end??

  • @MasterEiji - lol. No. I wish!

  • FUN FACT: This game is based on the anime series Lupin the Third, which is in turn based on the manga of the same name by artist Monkey Punch. This game specifically bases itself off of the films Castle of Cagliostro (which is actually directed by Hayao Miyazaki of Spirited Away fame) and Secret of Mamo.

  • @CCharmanderK - This is the kind of thing I like to see posted on my vids. Thank you for sharing the info.

  • Good grief! I'm taken back to any Saturday night in the mid to early 80's, a fiver worth in quarters, the low lighting, the sensory overload of sounds, the shady characters (who I paid little to no attention to) and a red shlushy at my side!! -GREAT MEMORIES!! Thanx for the upload!!!

  • @BarzOnTheWindow1 - You're welcome. Thanks for sharing your arcade memories in the process. I love that.

  • I remember finding a $10 bill under my parents couch cushions one weekend, riding my bike all the way to the mall & playing the SHIT out of this game!! This & Dragon's Lair were great.

  • @Bignum Wait. You remember the Cloverleaf Mini-Golf? I remember going there once before it shut down. Now, it's a Hess gas station.

  • @mikeferr107 It's not a problem. Being both a huge gamer and anime fan, I love finding out interesting info like this and sharing it. Here's some more trivia.

There are two instances where the original Japanese voices can still be heard: when "Cliff" enters "Clarissa"'s chambers, you can hear Yasuo Yamada, voice of Lupin, say "Kurarisu", or "Clarisse". And when "Count Drago"'s men fire on "Cliff", you can hear the voice of Count Cagliostro say "Ute", or "Fire".

  • @LeotheTiger1776 - Yes. I have seen those clips on here. It's a great game, but a hard game..at least for me. I played this more recently, and didn't even make it to the sewer. I'm WAY out of practice. Also, I took a shot at Dragon's Lair 2..and..nevermind. Let's just say it was embarrassing. lol.

  • this game was way too hard. I don't think it did well. I lived in Miami and at the Cloverleaf Miniature Galf and Gameroom, they took this out after about a month

  • I loved this game. I learned that if you watched the bottom it said "Stick" so you had to push the joystick in a certain direction. If it said "Action" you were supposed to push hands or feet. But you could push the hands and feet button at the same time and it would work. The ninjas were the hardest part, but if you got past it the rest was easy.

  • Quaker Bridge Mall arcade, 1983. anybody else was there?
