If possible, if you did not take it on ear and keep it there, could you frame a melody? Just recieved a mandolin Saturday and would love to learn I Will Arise on a virgin instrument. Or at least some chords.

When I sit down and try to figure out the chords, they seem to come out different from when I'm just playing the song. But here's most of them:

A beautiful piece nicely played. After hearing it, I went a-looking for some tab or sheet music online but had no luck. I recognize this from a movie called "Geronimo: An American Legend", which came out over a decade ago. Didn't know it was a traditional piece though.

So far as I can tell, it's an early American hymn tune, like from Sacred Harp or somewheres. Sometimes the hymn Come Thou Fount of every Blessing is sung to it.
