In this case you have troops out on the ground that either see's it or hear's it before you and shouts "incoming"

This is a good reflection of what being in a war is like. You dont know whats going on, or where shit is coming from. This is where the keyboard warriors get an idea you can't push F2 and change view to see where the bad guys are at and how many. You wouldnt really have a clue what decisions are being made, and how your mates are fareing in other pits. Good on you our POMmy friends, keep up the good fight.

I heard a spent bullet hit, then heard a high-velocity artillery round pass overhead going in one direction or the other, but I didn't hear any incoming mortars. That's because you can't hear incoming mortars.... until they hit. God knows I tried, even though it's been a very long time ago.

Ok, I'm just a keyboard warrior, but their pit looks like it sucks... I bet they wish they put more effort into their firing position now. I love the fact that one side of their pit is comprised of ammo, just begging for a secondary explosion. Just as well sofew insurgents know how to aim, or they would be fucked.
