This instructional video by Scuba.com will show you how to properly wash and keep your wetsuit nice and clean. You will always want to hose it down with fresh water inside and out. Make sure when you dry your suit you keep it out of the sun too.

  • While wringing your suit out won't hurt it much, in most wetsuits there isn't a great deal to be gained by it. The nylon lining will retain some water, but very little and the neoprene itself, being rubber isn't going to hold any at all. I can see where this might be useful with a plush lined suit. I find hanging it inside-out to dry is also very helpful.

  • What about wringing out the wetsuit? I see a lot of people do this and it definitely promotes faster drying especially with thicker wetsuits. The neoprene is tough so it should easily withstand an average amount of twisting. Also, if you check back on the wetsuit while it's handing, you can squeeze out the water that has collected at the ends--this also helps dry the wetsuit faster.
