What a beautifil and fitting tribute to many - beautiful women of color w/ their talented contributions to Music, Modeling. Singing and all of the performing arts. When we compare these talented Women to the performers of today - there is no comparison. They performed live, without modern Audio equipmen There were no 35 takes of one scene in a video that might be seconds long, it was all done in one take,several minutes long w/out a break - now that is the gift that is called talent!!

In one of Nina Mae McJinneys's movies (don't remember which one) she does a dance move that Elvis Presley stole (hip swivel)! The film was made in the 1920s!

Elvis Pressley stealing someone elses dance moves why doesn't that surprise me.He's the king of deception all of his hit songs were sung by other artists before him.

@gahen21

In the 1929 movie "Hallelujah", she does a dance called "The Swanee Shuffle"...I JUST commented on a video with that scene, about Elvis being inspired by (correction, STEALING from) Ms. McKinney.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to pick up on that!

Love the videos, hope there's more like it , to come. I adore all of them even though I'm not up to date on most. But keep up the good work, and we all will. I remember my father us to be in love with Ms Nina (9 na) and he told me while watching Hallilujah that "Pretty as she is, if she would of put her rap on me while dancing with me, she would of had my pay check for years. and we laugh so hard. Since then, she has been a favorite of mine especially with the Nicholas Brothers. Black is lovely.

My Grandmother was very warm and outgoing she died when I was 14yrs old and was in and out of the hospital for the last 3yrs of her life. She had lost most of her outer beauty because of throat cancer, they removed her jawbone. But she fought for life and rooted for her Mets til the end. She remained sweet and strong never outwardly feeling sorry for herself. Her mother Hazel Roberts was her backbone and lived 19yrs after her death.

This is a tribute to black women, dark, brown, caramel, honey, tan, yellow, pale, of all types of features and hair textures. Black and black beauty is versatile and these women represent our versatility, sadly some can't handle it.
