Yeah, I see what you're saying. They're both amazing cars when it comes down to it though. Back in the summer of '89 my father picked up one of the first 1990 Lexus LS400's on Long Island. It was Pearl White and fully loaded. That LS400 was one of the nicest cars I've ever been in. At the time, nothing could match it in any category.

@IrishChris1979 as a machine the benz and the lexus are very similar, it's the other things that could like price, fuel economy, resell value, reliability etc In all this things the Lexus beats all its rivals hands down and that is why Lexus is top luxury brand in North Ameica.

That's what I thought until I went for a ride to NJ in my brothers new S550 back in 2009. I never thought any car could ride better than my uncles LS460. It did everything better actually. Even my uncle admit that my brothers car was a step above his Lexus. My uncle is now leasing a 2010 S550 4-Matic and couldn't be happier with it. He wants to buy it after the lease is up.

i dont get it. why is road FEEL a good thing when talking about steering. as long as the steering is percise and quick, i as a driver want to be as removed from road feel as possible. the way i seee it, the lexus's lack of road feel is a good thing. Same with engine noise, the less of it the better. i hate it when car magazines talk about a "nice" throaty growl, or engine hum. no! the less noise, the better. thanks lexus for keeping ur cars quiet and the steering soft!!
