If you're in the market for new monitor, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Dell U2410 24" UltraSharp Widescreen Monitor. IMO it's a great all around monitor, with 1920 X 1200 resolution and a response time of 6ms. This monitor was built with the enthusiast in mind and has all the connections you could possible want, including HDMI and Display Port.
The only regret I have is I wish it would have came with a remote control to navigate through all it's different modes.
If I had to rate this monitor I would give it 8 out of 10.

If you do purchase this monitor be sure to get Rev A01, as Rev A00 had some minor issues that have been addresses in the new rev. If you do own this model already and have Rev. A001 there is a firmware available, PM meand I will send you the link.

Cheers
LazyMan :-)

  • Is the "Dell UltraSharp U2412M" also a good choice? Not looking for an extreme good monitor, just a good ips monitor with nice colours for a fairly low price.

  • @Chainzaw1447 Seems like a nice monitor from it's specs...but the response time is a little slow (8ms)...so it may not be good for gaming.

  • well my monitor is 2ms and I am a gamer, so maybe i should wait until ips displays to catch up to the response times of TN displays

  • @ibanez0830 Anything under 6ms you won't notice the difference.....and I don't think IPS panels will ever be able to get under 5ms.....so it may be a long wait. But the benefits of a IPS panel outweigh the difference in response times by a mile, especially when it isn't even noticeable.

  • Hi man great Rewvie about the monitors:) I have just one question do it get blurry in fast scene movies or in fast fps games? Thx for your respond!

  • @gusilago I have only watch one movie on my monitor, the one at the end of this video. However i have not experience any blurring while playing games.

  • @WestCoastMods

Actually, this monitor only have 6 ms =)

and, sure, some older screens may have 2 ms (like my SAMSUNG) but they also have a bunch of other technology that has become quite a bit aged with the years.

  • @Chainzaw1447 Get a U2312HM. Just purchased one and it is the fastest IPS monitor on the market. In real world tests the 2412 etc. get around 10ms etc. whereas the 2312 got 0.6ms. I have no idea why it is so much faster, but it is. I've found it actually quicker than my ASUS VH242H which is a "5ms" TN panel. So don't be confused with the 8ms spec.

  • @WestCoastMods Damn it, well might spend more money on a IPS monitor with <6ms then, maybe for next christmas.

  • Thanks :) cuz im using an old tn panel and it blurs like SH**! and i get iritated in my eyes so im needed to find out i think im gonna buy it, But will calibration do much difference in picture quality and if it do how big in scale would you put it out of 10?
