Hundreds of Dogs set for slaughter saved by "animal lover"

A truck load of dogs being sold for their meat in China have been rescued after a passing animal lover blocked the highway.
Eventually, their release was negotiated with the help of welfare organisations.
China is not a country not known for its strong animal rights record.
However, attitudes to animals in China are changing as the country's growing middle class becomes pet owners.

Oh man, it breaks my heart into pieces that people could even think of doing these things to animals. These rescuers are the most amazing and selfless heroes...I thank goodness every day for them, and imagine the horrible opposition they must suffer there, far worse than elsewhere. This world has got to change drastically, or END.

Dog slaughter is unjustifiable but so is cow slaughter, pig slaughter, chicken, slaughter, exc. If your against dog slaughter then why (if you are) would you pay for pig, cow or chicken meat and pay an industry to slaughter these animals. Dogs maybe cuter & more loveable but that does't mean only them deserve the rights to not be slaughtered & the rights to freedom & to live a good full life.

All animals deserve freedom. Killing them just for an extra option of food is not ethical.

Thank goodness these were saved, but the job is far from over. We have people beating physically n killing their ' pets' right in our neighborhoods!! We all need to speak out and stop these ' people' because it is NOT okay!!!

Im happy that at least one person had enough balls to block a highway to save the poor dogs. i would have done the same thing if i was there! every person in the world needs to step up and help these poor animals. there family they deserve better all these chines (are watever the hell they are) they need to stop doing wat they are doing they dont understand that its hurting alot of people and they dont understand that there killing and eating there own family too!!!!!!
