Don't pass up on this festive favorite because of the calories; just mix yourself a lighter version.

To complete this How-To you will need:

4 fresh mint leaves
4 lime wedges
1 1/2 oz. low-calorie rum
Some club soda
A Collins glass
A muddler or a spoon
Crushed ice
1 tsp. sugar substitute

Step 1: Muddle the mint

Put three mint leaves and four lime wedges into a Collins glass and mash them with a muddler. Add one teaspoon of sugar substitute if you like your mojitos on the sweet side.

Tip: If you don't have a muddler, just use the back of a spoon.

Step 2: Fill with ice

Fill the glass with crushed ice.

Step 3: Add the rum

Pour in an ounce and a half of low-calorie rum and stir.

Step 4: Top with soda

Top with club soda.

Step 5: Garnish with mint

Garnish with the remaining mint leaf and enjoy!

  • i laff out roud

  • @BrtshAmerican6 That......Was the best comment ever

  • You shouldn't muddle the mint leaves because this bruises the flavour. I believe for better taste put 4/5 lime quarters into bottom of a glass, add brown sugar and some gomme syrup. Muddle this and then grab a handful of mint leaves and clap them in your hand and place them in. Then fill the glass 3/4 the way with crushed ice. Add the rum and churn it with the bar spoon. Finish off by filling the glass to the top with crushed ice and put a mint leaf on top. Just an alternative method i use :)

  • @BrtshAmerican6 Well , It's actually the same every where. Culture people might drink whine but young people, students and all a like minded usually just drink "normally". The difference I've noticed in drinking cultres is that americans do different stuff when drunk because they get to legal drinking at 21. I've been drinking since like 17 or maybe 16, legal age 18 easy 2 get boose. I don't feel like binge drinking. Too many bad memories from horrible hang overs. My liquor head has worsned also
