  • Hi Everyone, I would just like to update you all. I had the procedure in February 2011 and in April 2011 the ectopics/pvc's returned. So unfortunately it was unsuccessful. In April, we decided to get pregnant again instead of going on medication and so I am currently nearly 5 months pregnant! I had one episode where I blacked out a couple of weeks ago but the baby is fine and i'm fine now too. They put me on an episode monitor, where you press the button when something happens.

  • Thank you so much! I am a fourteen year old girl living in America and I am going through EP Ablation in a few months. I have had irregular hearbeets for about a year and a half, and my doctor said I should go through with that. They are medicating the symptoms untill the procedure is done. I have one question: how long did you stay at the hospital after the procedure? They are going to knock me out compleatly, and I think they are going to go through my chest....thanks!! love your accent btw.

  • @RUGoat Hi there! I haven't checked this for months so I hope it went well....Please let me know!

  • Hi everyone, Just had an EP study two days ago. Just want to say it was really no big deal at all . I was partly sedated so awake. I didn't feel them cut me around the groin area and insert the wires , lol I didn't even realise the wires were in my heart lol until I saw the screen and had to ask ! They couldn't find any mild arrhythmia's which is causing my AF. I will have to have an ablation on the plumoiry veins I think in another few months.

  • 36 yrs old from Cincinnati Ohio. Im having an EP Study scheduled in a couple of days. They might insert a pacemaker or do an ablation. This was very helpful. Thanks for posting this.

  • Getting a catheter ablation on Thursday for SVT. I also live in Dublin so very reassuring to see a video from a fellow Irish woman! I've had very similar experiences to you which has led me to decide to go ahead with the procedure. Thanks so much for uploading, eased the nerves a bit

  • I have to undergo an ablation tomorrow. I'm very nervous but I don't want to show that to my parents because my mom is very nervous too. I'm accually calming her down the past few days, haha. This video calmed me down a bit too, though.

  • I just had one Tuesday I went into the surgery my heart rate was 287 I thank God I'm still alive I pray to God it work which I have a lot of faith. I wish you the best.

  • Elaine thanks for posting this, i have had tons of surgeries, over the years but after dealing with my irregular heartbeat and infertility n various other issues all at once and then losing my teaching job bc i was blacking out while teaching, they are finally doing this on monday, i know halloween, a little scary, but this is my 1st heart test besides a tilt table test, which was pretty scary, but i feel better now please update us as u can!

  • Hi! Do you happen to know which system was used for the EP study? Was in CARTO(R) 3 or NavX?

  • ...little when they allowed me to walk on it. But i was actually allowed to fly on a plane the day after the procedure!!! Im from New Mexico, USA, and had the procedure done at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital of Stanford in California. i was experiencing irregular heart beats since birth, then they would dissapear for years, then when i was 14 they slapped me in the face and it was hard to keep up in sports and class. so at age 19, the procedure was considered successful :) GOOD LUCK!

  • @RUGoat hello, ive gone through 2 ep studies, 2nd one ended up in a diagnosis/ablation for AVNRT. dont be scared, its actually areally neat procedure. ask if there's a posibility to be under conscious sedation (meaning youll be awake the whole time) because i am terrified of going under completely, and they will explain what they're doing the whole way through. most likely you'll have to stay 6 hours after the procedure in the hospital, i stayed 8 because my femoral artery was still bleeding a

  • @elainehearty1 Yeah! It was compleatly sucsessful!! hank you!! I'm sorry to hear that yours wasn't, but congrats on the baby! I hpe everything turns out alright for you and your family!
