  • The 50's were the happy days yo!

  • Good old AC. Though when I think of it I remeber steel pier, & we went there in 6th grade. Several of us went to the back where the show was with the horse, & lions, & before the show, us girls sat on the bleachers while a couple of the guys went over to the lions cage & a lion grabbed my friends leg (eventually, lost his leg)...don't remember too much else, we were in shock!

  • The casinos didn't destroy Atlantic City. Cheap air travel did. Before that, this was a major place to go for New Yorkers and Philadelphians. When it got cheap to go to Florida or the Carribbean, people stopped going. The city had already declined in the 70s and the casinos were an attempt supposedly to revitalize the city. Except the casinos did nothing for it.

  • @swetchild7 Yeah, I was there one of the days, its like going back in time, really. I really wish they would do some work on the place though, at least get the clocks working!

  • What destroyed Atlantic City was that when the casinos came all the privately owned restaurants and Hotels and clothing stores left because of the extremely high property taxes-the casino's were all about money and did nothing for the residents of atlantic city-sure they provided jobs but they also raised the rents-so in actually people were better off before the casino's and much happier

  • Wow! I was born in '51 and spent every summer going to "the shore" for over 30 years. This film made me feel as if I stepped right back into my past. Thanks!

  • @RAPisntMUSIC111 Not just the minorities turned it into a dump. It was everyone.

  • @imthechasman That week was 2 weeks ago!

  • @M16zable Would you sell your soul to the devil woo woo hahaha

  • @CJC0988 Just as an FYI in case you're interested: Its not 100% vacant, they race there for a week a year, usually around the end of April. It is in great disrepair, however.
