  • John Twist, you are the man!

For weeks i was searching for this fault on my '67 MGB GT. The starter was tunrning but obviously not fast enough for sliding forward on the starter-shaft and to engage the flywheel.

The reason was a bad ground connection between the chassis and the motor. I cleaned the connections, used a little bit of cooper paste and voila - the motor is now starting every time i turn the starter key.

Thank you very much for this hint!

    Greetings

    Holger

  • I had a loose ground strap one on a 74-B and it was actually melting the accelerator cable frome the carbs to the accelerator petal. It took me forever to figure this one out.

  • John, thanks for sharing this valuable information with us.
