Ah, I don't know about that. He was always very open about his influences, Nancarrow among them. Same style for sure, but you may as well say that Mozart totally ripped off Haydn's shit.

Yeah, you can hear in that opening gambit (descending fifths, but then overlapping entrances of descending fifths that create different intervals) the inspiration for Arc en Ciel. I can't put my finger on it, but it is more than just their common use of the fifths cycle...

is it also possible of adjusting the hardness, softness of the notes? or is it mainly just on/off. shorter and singular notes seem softer than big masses and/or chords but I can't figure out if there is a way to let them be played louder of softer. is there?

    masterpiece, definitely.

What a pity that the sound quality is so poor.

Strange to see, that this instrument is much to less accurate, to play every detail of the composition. I also realized, that some pitches are broken ... :-(

I prefer the CD's recorded by "Wergo".

Why is the tempo so different compared to the "wergo"-recording?

Thanks so much for these. I'm studying them every day now. As a lover of canons, as well as polyrhythms, Nancarrow is just fantastic.
