Lyrics

JOYFUL RESURRECTION
By Tom Fogerty

Have you heard of a joyful resurrection?
A way to bring your mind back from the dead
Have you heard of joyful pain direction?
Change of scene is gonna change your head

So you think that the music died with Holly
Well let me tell you people that ain't right
Cause a boy named Valens sent us all to Del-Fi
And a rocking voice to carry in the night

It was late it was late and the day was long in coming
The mystery ship would not stop in L. A.
For the Velvet Visions Fantasy was growing
And the underground apostles set the stage

Came the dawn and the sun was shining brightly
For the four boys from the county came to play
But the best laid plans go funny
And the evil clouds of darkness had their way

  • Just imagine that creedence would have recorded this song in the creedence style, im sure it would have become a huge hit.

  • @honorarymember this is what i've heard, too.

  • @itcameoutofthesky

It's my understanding John actually did play on this song. He just didn't record his part (solo, I guess) at the same time. (So it was not really a reunion).

  • One of my favorite songs

  • love that song!!!!!

  • John didn't play on this song, Stu Cook did the solo !

  • @honorarymember yep it still sounds like Creedence, and one of the best songs

  • @budelke

for me as well, and I even think one of their best songs.

  • for me, the last CCR single

  • Tom's best song and my all time favorite song..who said Tom couldn't sing ?
