When Gregg Schlosberg was born his doctors weren't completely sure he had PKU. They advised his parents to keep him on special formula for just the first three years of his life.His mother thought he had "grown out of the PKU," and at the age of three, began feeding him normal foods. Gregg experienced severe anxiety, cloudy thinking and trouble focusing in school. Later Gregg took an interest in weightlifting and, at one point, was on a high-protein diet, a poor choice if only he had known he was living with PKU as an adult.
