http://www.nitasnest.homestead.com Handfeeding three baby Timneh African Grey parrots, aged 17, 15, and 12 days old. Handfeeding with Zupreem Plus formula and fed with a bent spoon.
oh my goodness how adorable!! listen to those little noises.. boy do they get louder! i was just wondering if you had tried using a syringe instead of a spoon, it's a little less messy.
The babies had only been handfeeding for a few days then, but once they get the hang of it they are not nearly as messy. I like using a spoon because to me it more closely replicates them taking food from a parent. They are able to bob and be more natural in their actions. It may take a bit longer (though once they get the hang of it I'm not sure if that is really true), but if it does take a bit longer, that isn't a bad thing. :)
that makes sense. i suppose it doesnt really matter how they get the food as long as it's safe and they're full up. it would be nice to see videos of these little ones growing. you must have your hands full!
