A friend of mine adapted a 6HP Fairbanks Morse engine to a #2 Goldens cane press. He also made a cooker to boil off the water from the juice. It takes ten gallons of juice to make 1 gallon of molasses

  • We use this stuff to keep dust off the unpaved roads in Costa Rica

  • LOL... we eat it!

  • I'll have to agree, that's a slick setup. Someday I hope to find a horizontal powermill to run with my Allis Chalmers G.

  • Good luck

  • Wow that is very cool, surprising how much liquid is in there

  • that engine sounds very fuel efficient

  • Que máquima mais obsoleta, Deus me livre...

  • I really like seeing those old engines actually doing something productive besides popping away at a tractor show. Thanks!

  • What's Molasses?! Yes, I have NO simple clue.

  • I'm confused...I thought that molasses were residues after extracting the brown sugar...What I see on this video is just the cane juice....This cane juice need to be concentrated (water evaporation)...and then cool to force the crystallization of the sugar.

  • that is so cool :D

  • How many 100 proof rum would you make from that?

  • wos die shisha ich seh die molasse net...^^

  • in my country this is called air tebu. we drink it fresh after the cane is press. nice to drink with ice in hot weather. but, it will not taste good after couple of hours. so,, after press it in the machine, go grab glass with full of ice.
