What's Molasses?! Yes, I have NO simple clue.

I'm confused...I thought that molasses were residues after extracting the brown sugar...What I see on this video is just the cane juice....This cane juice need to be concentrated (water evaporation)...and then cool to force the crystallization of the sugar.

in my country this is called air tebu. we drink it fresh after the cane is press. nice to drink with ice in hot weather. but, it will not taste good after couple of hours. so,, after press it in the machine, go grab glass with full of ice.
We use this stuff to keep dust off the unpaved roads in Costa Rica

I'll have to agree, that's a slick setup. Someday I hope to find a horizontal powermill to run with my Allis Chalmers G.
