24 year-old Miyoshi Umeki 梅木 美代志, using the stage name Nancy Umeki ナンシー梅木, sings サヨナラ "Sayonara (Let's Say Good-bye)" from the 1953 film 青春ジャズ娘 Seishun Jazz Musume. Recording issued on RCA VIctor Japan 78 RPM

The ending of the song is obscured by the action of the story...

Lyrics:

Sayonara, if you don't want my love anymore,
then what are we waiting for, let's say goodbye

If you loved me, then Darling, I'd gladly stay,
but I can't go on this way, although I try

Someday, maybe you'll want my love, just tell me when,
and maybe I'll be the one you're dreaming of, but 'til then,

Sayonara, I guess that it's better this way;
there's nothing left to say, except goodbye
