While finishing up our previous video, "His Return (Pre-Raphaelite Yearnings)", we ran across a Waterhouse painting that we had never seen before called "Boreas" (a god of the wind). It turns out that it was long lost and only recently re-discovered in the 1990's. But this was not just one more "pleasant" Pre-Raphaelite painting among the many we enjoy -- it was so striking that it immediately became one of our favorites. Angelee was captivated by it, and wrote, "Wind's Wife." We quickly recorded this short video for it.

  • I want the shawl to flap!

Great oration. She should read books onto CD or read for the CNIB, where she would no doubt be paid handsomely.

  • @jumpergal111 We've seriously considered something like that, but have no idea how to even go about looking into it. Any ideas (anyone?) --Stanley (and Angelee)

  • So beautiful.

  • @Kanakaberaka In fact, I originally had the shawl flapping in the wind, but, as you guessed, we thought it distracted too much from the poem itself. I love doing that stuff -- but then I remember how irritated I get at movies that focus only on special effects.

Yes, reading aloud has always been Angelee's forte (she's a lector at Mass and is often complemented by complete strangers). She sings in the videos because hers is the only voice we have available (you don't want to hear mine:-).
