I would not try to claim that "Archangel" is the best film ever made in Canada. (There would be all of Guy Maddin's other movies to deal with, for one thing. )
But I have no difficulty in claiming "Archangel" as my best-loved Canadian film ... no, wait ... what about "The Big Snit"? ... ahhhh!!

Buñuel and Dali would have frowned upon this mediocre and uninspiring director; those looking to be enlightened by meaningful art films please seek out the work of the two remaining surrealists David Lynch & Bruce McDonald and leave Guy Maddin to his pretentious silent film copycat obsessions.
