This is 1 of 4 vintage early 70's Otis traction elevators at the Sofitel in Minneapolis (Bloomington), MN. This is a very cool hotel that has an awesome 70's retro lobby. The elevators themselves are original but they remodeled the cabs. They are pretty quick and the lower level is actually floor '0' in keeping with the Euro theme (before labeling the LL floor 0 was actually more common in the USA). Floors 0-6.

  • I stayed here about 4 years ago, glad to see this hasn't been modded :D

  • @jtelev I remember you mentioning that a while back. I was always going to drop by and get a video but haven't had time until now.

  • It sure is a nice elevator, and even the LED bulbs on the Lexan buttons have that classic design, so they won't have to be replaced. Also, it's too bad they phased out the "0" technique for the basement, since it's so much easier to understand, along with negative numbers for more than 2 basements.

  • That's a really nice cab!
