Be a nice chap and show me who before the Europeans was claiming that, after all, Africans too have a soul. Show me who before the peoples of Europe debated and questioned slavery and please, please show me who before the Europeans made laws against slavery. Want a clue? I'll gladly give you a couple of facts:
1. the first recorded anti-slavery legislation is Spanish, and is the Leyes Nuevas;
2. the first recorded debate over slavery is teh Valladolid debate. Go read about it.

@PortugalIV Europeans were not the first to question slavery, sorry but you're wrong
-
@PortugalIV Yes europeans did not originate the idea of slavery but what exactly is your point?
The europeans were most certainly not the first to question slavery and think of the slaves as human.
Slavery and other types of exploitation of the Africans under the dutch and other europeans was by far worse than any non-europeans. Furthermore, the european slave trade involved exploitation of their own people.

@PortugalIV Well said.

La Folía (Follia) is one of the oldest remembered European musical themes. It originated in the Iberian Peninsula. There are at least 64 known versions of this theme composed over a period of 200 years.
Can't go wrong with folias. :)

In fact you don't know what you're talking about.
There was already slave trade before the europeans reached the Americas and Subsaharan Africa.
It were the europeans the first to question slavery and to think in the slaves as humans, in Spain, in the XVI century.
Europa back then was the light of mankind, wharever you like it or not.
And again, wharever you like it or not, that's Europe.
A continent of different nations and cultures.
Today's Europe is an adulteration of it.
