Asheron's Call Dereth: A Real MMO World

Asheron's Call Dereth is the largest and more open mmo world I've played, completely dwarfing modern MMO's. Entily seamless and zoneless world with varying spawn patters, and 12 years of content.

Been wanting to record this for awhile. This is really for me since most kids these days flame it for graphics if it's every seen anywhere.
Running southern bridge from East to West, took about an hour. Going to North next.

-The sun has risen to shine on the lands of Dereth over 30,000 times!

-There have been 135 Updates and 2 expansion.

There are over 1000 quest weapons in game.
There are over 1000 creature variations.
There are over 240 caves and dungeons.
There are over 600 quests.

@scienceisneato In the early days, there were no bots, no AC Decal route-finders, and not necessarily someone available to cast you a portal. The first time many people tied to a stone in the west, they had to run there! It was really fun figuring out your motivations for fighting crystals and other monsters :) Even near the end of my time, that run would have been dangerous. You never even seemed in peril, so you must have been a powerful character! Love the map! Thinking of framing it too :)

I was an AC addict off and on for 7 years. Saw it get a nod in an article about "Biggest Dick Moves in MMO History" and it made me want to look up some vids. Absolutely loved your video! It was so nostalgic to watch you do that run. My hometown as a newb was Mayoi, and I spent a lot of time in Teft in higher levels. I may have even done that run before...
