Tim Maia Racional - The LP

Rare LP from the father of Brazilian Soul Music Tim Maia.

In 1975, following the sect Universo em Desencanto, Maia released two editions of "Tim Maia Racional" (Tim Maia Racional Vol. 1 & 2) on his own label, Seroma, that expressed his infatuation with the religious/philosophical sect "Universo em Desencanto. Although these albums were not well-received at their time of release, they are now regarded as classics and saw re-release in 2005 (CD).

Little is known about why a character like Tim Maia, who always fomented his reputation as a rebel, started singing verses like "I no longer depend on madness/Now I know what to do/ Now I know a new truth/ Im living with the pleasure/Of being alive". During his messianic period, which lasted for about 6 months, Maia gave up drug use and had a son , but he also realized that he wouldnt be chatting with beings from other planets anytime soon which was his goal as he joined the sect.

Maia, after quitting the sect, destroyed the original master tapes and the reissue of the album on CD in 2005 was done from an original copy on vinyl.

It,s not easy to find this LP in such condition, most of the time its scratched and the sleeve/label has writting, the original sleeve was printed in a very thin low quality paper, and after so many years since its realease in 1975 it's hard to find one in good condition, and this copy still has the original lyrics sheet, I recommend you search for it on Ebay and you might be able to get one in similar condition, much love.
