My brother had the jet toy that interacted with the animated short that came with it (on VHS) but I don't remember if it would interact with the TV show...

@weirdsmobile All of the electronic light-sensor toys would interact with both the animated "training" videos and the TV series.

It was AWESOME for its time, and would still be sensational, providing they updated the special effects.
The greatest misconception was that the show was merely a half-hour commercial to sell the interactive toys (which were cool, but had an inconsistent interface). The show was actually conceived and initial episodes written long before Mattel's tie-in contract. Also, the show was much darker and more sophisticated than anything else primarily marketed to kids before or since.
